php accelerators

Hello,

we are currently looking at PHP accelerators (in particular byte code
caching) that can work smoothly with ZWS 4.3 and PHP 5.2.

I have looked up the http://support.zeus.com/zws/integration/2005/12/16/
php_accelerators  but it is from 2005 and partially obsolete.
E.g. Zend Accelerator seems now not available anymore as product,  but its
features are in Zend Server and Zend Platform.  Quite expensive and with
additional features that we do not need.
 The ionCube PHP Accelerator is instead not supported by PHP 5.x.

What are the most reliable and effective php byte code caching extensions?
